Ejections: Brian Gorman (2)

HP Umpire Brian Gorman ejected Braves Manager Bobby Cox for arguing an interference call in the bottom of the 4th inning of the Reds-Braves game. With one out and one on, Braves shortstop Yunel Escobar hit a 2-2 fastball from Reds pitcher Bronson Arroyo back to the mound. The pitch caromed off Arroyo toward the first base line, where Arroyo recovered the baseball and threw onto first base; the ball struck Escobar before arriving at first base. Replays indicate that Escobar was running outside the 45 foot batter-runner's lane, and that this action prevented Reds first baseman Joey Votto from fielding the throw, constituting interference, the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the Reds were leading, 1-0. The Reds ultimately won the contest, 3-1.

This is Brian Gorman (9)'s second ejection of 2009.

This is the 141st ejection of 2009.

This is Cox's 150th career ejection.
