Ejections: Dan Bellino (2)

3B Umpire Dan Bellino ejected Nationals Manager Jim Riggleman for arguing an obstruction call in the top of the 8th inning of the Reds-Nationals game. With none out and one on, Reds first baseman Joey Votto took a 0-2 fastball from Nationals pitcher Sean Burnett for a ball. The pitch was wild, and Reds baserunner Brandon Phillips attempted to advance two bases, to third base; the throw to third base beat the runner. Replays indicate Nationals shortstop Ian Desmond appeared to obstruct Phillips as he was running from second to third base, the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the Reds were leading, 3-1. The Reds ultimately won the contest, 5-1.
