Umpire Odds & Ends: Interference Ends Game

In the top of the 9th inning of Sunday's Rangers-Twins game, Rangers designated hitter Vladmir Guerrero hit a 1-0 fastball from Twins pitcher Matt Capps to Twins second baseman Orlando Hudson, who threw behind Rangers third baseman Michael Young, the baserunner who had rounded third base and was attempting to retreat. Instead of ruling whether the tag of Twins third baseman Matt Tolbert caught Young before he returned to the base, 3B Umpire Alfonso Marquez (72) ruled Young out for interference under MLB Rule 7.09(h) [base coach, offensive interference]. This ended the game, with the score 6-5, in favor of the Twins.

Was this truly interference under 7.09(h); was Young indeed tagged out at third base in any case?
