Noteworthy Umpire of the Year: Jim Wolf (78)
Jim Wolf is the Umpire Fantasy League's 2010 Noteworthy Umpire of the Year. In his 12th Major League Baseball umpiring season, was selected as the RF Umpire for the 2010 All-Star Game between the NL and AL, and the starting 1B Umpire for the ALDS between the Rangers and Rays, his first All-Star Game, second DS, and second postseason. Wolf finished the 2010 regular season with one ejection and a 100% accuracy rating (1/1). Wolf notably picked up his second ejection of 2010 during the postseason, when he ejected Rays Manager Joe Maddon on October 7 during the Rangers-Rays game
after an incorrectly ruled check swing (ball) call made by 1B Umpire Jerry Meals. Due to UEFL Postseason scoring rules in regards to incorrect calls made by a crew-mate, Wolf would actually gain a point in the UEFL standings as a result of this ejection. Wolf has been consistently praised for his calm and professional demeanor and work ethic. Wolf had one ejection in 2009.
Jim Wolf (78) now has 10 points in the Umpire Ejection Fantasy League.
Two Umpires have been awarded Noteworthy Umpire this year under UEFL Rule 4.e.ii.
The next postseason award, Umpire of the Year, will be released overnight.
